From peaceful morning routines to watching the sunset over the farm fields, we make sure every guest feels cherished. Our property remains a vibrant home where animals are cared for and accommodated. When you entrust your companions to us, they aren't just visitors; they are welcomed into our tranquil life with open arms and plenty of love.

My husband and I made the decision in 2019 to make my dreams come true, and repurposed and renovated our barn into a cozy, quality, low stress environment for you to leave your fur family members. My husband worked endlessly over the years in nearly every component of the construction, proving to continue tirelessly until our opening and continues to do so. We installed state-of-art Mason Kennel suites at a custom large blueprint. Life and the pandemic set us back a few years but we persevered and it is complete, ready to serve you and you as our valued guests My husband and I worked with passion to complete this dream.
Kim White, Owner & Pet Parent

As I write this in our opening year, 2024, I reflect that I have always had a passion and respect for all animals and their well-being. I am a pet parent to a German Shepherd puppy named Anakin who is fully of energy. I lost my 11 year old German Shepherd named Gideon (who is featured on the home page) in August of 2023, and he was our working partner getting the kennels ready for you, our valued guests, and companion throughout all life moments. In our family, we also have a 7 year old Shih Tzu mix named Bella and 4 cats named Loki, Omen, Fraser and Sweetie ranging from 1 to 22 years old. Another passion includes my two fresh-water fish tanks and to list their names would take up this whole space.Â

I spent nearly a decade working in a kennel, eventually becoming the manager. Wanting to learn more about the pet industry, I moved into a pet store role, which let me keep connecting with pets and their owners while deepening my knowledge. Over more than seven years there, I learned a lot about all things pet related.

We look forward to hearing more about your dog or cat, and meeting you soon! Please feel welcome to reach out.
My life has always been defined by a deep connection to animals. Raising my family on a sheep farm for decades, inspired this new endeavour of Purple Hill Kennels.

When my husband and I purchased this farm in Thorndale Ontario, we were just married. The previous owners left behind three female goats (two of which were expecting), a female German Shepherd who had 9 puppies the month after we moved in, and the menagerie of pets just grew from there - chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys and an Arabian horse.Â

Our Sheep farm eventually transpired into this new passion - the purposely small and carefully constructed Purple Hill Kennels.Â

My husband and I decided to transform our original barn into a low-stress retreat now featuring twenty-four spacious dog suites and twelve comfortable cat accommodations. We wanted to create an environment that feels like warm and fun experience, staying small on purpose; rather than a standard facility.
